PARAGON (2024)

Film (9:44 min)

project by Carlotta Borcherding
Paragon is a performancefilm reflecting on the question of space, of receiving a source of light. The piece tells a story about two characters, their dynamic with each other and their relationship to light and darkness, to be seen and not to be seen.

The film is recorded within an interactive interface, the DeepSpace while the performance is based on a program that responds to movement within a sensory tracking system. Thus, the layers of sound, projection and movement are intertwined.  The structure of the projected images, determine the radius of action and interaction of the performers, and is based on a system defined by geometric shapes, space, body and movement, dealing with the presence of light or darkness and its influence on the performers, as well as the dynamics between the two characters. The choreography is inspired by the story of two avatars who shape their characters in the course of the performance and finally, interact with each other and with their source of light.
